Chairman and CEO, CreditEase
Mr. Tang founded CreditEase in 2006, as China’s first marketplace lending company, and over the past decade, CreditEase has developed into one of China’s leading Fintech companies, specializing in small business and consumer lending, as well as wealth management.
Mr. Tang began his career in finance as an investment banker with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in New York, where he participated in IPOs and bond issuances, and advised on M&A transactions in the areas of financial services, telecommunications, media and technology.
Upon returning to China in 2000, he joined US-listed Chinese technology company, AsiaInfo, as the Director of Strategic Investments focusing on opportunities in emerging technology ventures. After his tenure at AsiaInfo, he became one of China’s early angel investors, and made a series of successful angel investments that later grew into major technology companies such as Tarena International (NASDAQ: TEDU), and Emay Softcom (SZ: 300085).
He also established China Growth Capital, a venture capital firm investing in early-stage consumer and enterprise technology startups.
